Wear Your Socks At Night
I was lying alone in bed one night in October. The bedroom door was closed. The lights were off but the moon's light shown in the window. It was a very calm night, no wind was blowing. I was lying on my stomach under the covers wearing a nightshirt and no socks. ALL OF A SUDDEN after about a 1/2 hour laying there, my feet were grabbed and I was being pulled off the bed. I held onto the bedpost with all my strength. I started screaming the top of my head off. I kicked free, ran and turned on the light. I was shaking like crazy. I looked under the bed, in the closet, behind the door and nobody was there. The room was empty except for myself. I started to shake even more. I opened the door, went downstairs and out the front door. I ran as fast as I could away! I kepted on running until the sun came up. That was 25 years ago. To this day I now wear socks when I sleep.
Alone In The House
One cold night in October, at my mom's house out in the country I was home alone. I was sitting up waiting for my mom to get home from work. She usually got home around 2 in the morning. I thought I heard someone in my bedroom, so I started walking to my bedroom to see what it was. When I got there I was already scared because I hear things like that all the time when my mom is gone. Well I opened my bedroom door and no one was there. This made me even more scared. In fact I got so scared that I had to use the bathroom. So I ran down the hall to the bathroom and the bathroom door was closed. At the time I did not even think anything about this, for we usually left this door open but I figured that I must of closed it sometime during the night. I tried to open the door but it would not open. I started to yank on it even harder than before and still the door would not open. This made me even scared more than before. In fact I was so scared that I started to pee in my pants. That is when I heard the toilet being flushed. There I was scared to death and in a puddle of pee. I could not move. All kinds of things started to race through my mind. What was I going to do. All of a sudden the bathroom door opened and out stepped my mother. She asked me what was going on and why are you standing in that puddle of water? To this day, every October I get a little scared.
Bloody Mary
The kids at our school in Winter Haven, Florida have this ritual. Well, at least the TV crew does. All the girls go in on Friday the 13th and do the "Bloody Mary".
For those of you that don't know what the "Bloody Mary" is. It is a legend that says, "If you go into the bathroom and look into the mirror with the lights off and the room completely black, and then say 'Bloody Mary' thirteen times, a woman will appear and scratch your face up/off."
Well, we decided to do it on Halloween. There were five of us. Four of us thought you saw "Bloody Mary" in the bathroom mirror, the other thought you saw her in the toilet. So we stood on separate sides of the bathroom with the lights off. The four of us facing the bathroom mirrors and the other standing by the toilets. All of a sudden, the girl standing by the toilet started to scream. We turned on the lights as fast as we could find the light switch. Once the light was on we saw that she was pale white (she was a darker skinned person). We walked out of the bathroom and had this feeling that we needed to look at our arms, the girl that had been standing near the toilet had a "B" red "l" hand "o" mark "o" on "d" her "y" arm. We "M" asked "a" why "r" she "y" had screamed and she said that she thought we had grabbed her to scare her. We told her that we had been on the other side of the bathroom and we were all holding hands when we heard her scream. We thought that you were trying to scare us. When we looked at our arms, we all had different words scratched into our arms. They all were in red. Stop, Trying, to see, and I got the word, ME. To this day, all us girls have a hard time going to any bathroom that is in any school.
The Old Man
When my mom was a little girl in New York, she would suck her thumb all the time. My grandma would put a glove on her hand in order to stop her from sucking her thumb. My mom would stay at her grandma's house during the summer. Well one summer when she was there each night my mom would go downstairs in order to take the glove out. Well one night when she went downstairs to take the glove out, she saw an old man telling her to come to him. He would always be standing outside on the porch. His clothes were all old and ripped. He had on a baseball hat which was pretty dirty. There was a light shining on him from above. His face was all scarred up. He had this one scar that ran from his right ear down to his chin and than down to the other side of his neck. My mom finally told my grandma when she was about 30 years old of this. My grandma said," Why didn't you tell me my child? In that house they used to hang people. You could of been hurt." To this day now that my grandma has passed away my mom will not go into that house or even near it any more.
The REAL Haunted House
My Grandma's house is pretty old, by "pretty old" I mean 100 or more years old. She lived in West Des Miones, Iowa. The house has always been known to have things go wrong with no reasonable explanation. There is a legend that a man deserted the army with no where to go. Back during the civil war. This man came upon, what is now, my grandma's house and realized it was unoccupied and had been for a while. So he made it his hide out, but he didn't last long. The army found him, buried under the floorboards, till this day he is believed to haunt the house. Once when my mom was little she looked in the mirror at the bottom of the stairs and saw a tall man wearing a army suit standing behind her, yet when she turned to face him he was not there anymore.
Hellens Death
My name is Ashley and one night in Kansas City I went to see my dying Aunt Hellen to tell her good-bye, (she was expected to die sometime during the month of October). The whole family was there. Everyone was talking to everyone else except my cuzin Miranda and me. Both of us were by each other sitting in the corner of the living room. My aunt wanted to see my cuzin Miranda and me. We both went into her bedroom to see what she wanted and to talk to her. Once we did that both of us went back into the living room and sat down on some chairs we could find. Than we heard that my Aunt Hellen pasted away a very short time later. She died sometime the next day. I was in my bedroom and I swear, I saw her standing there just watching me cry. When I looked up I heard a faint goodbye from my Aunt Hellen and then she disappeared. To this day I don't know why she came back to me just to say goodbye.
